Flying cutter

When I was making the sliding pinion in the beginning I didn't have the right cutter with the right module and I tried different methods but none had worked.

I made a flying cutter in the end I obtained results with the prototipe in brass but when I used it on steel didn't work and I never understood exactly the reason.

Anyway this is the making of the flying cutter.

I cut a piece off a large diameter of brass glued it on top of a flat piece of brass, drilled the center hole and an off center hole, milled flat the top side,

Then milled the other side

On a heater to break the glue

Almost done

I turned the flying cutter steel post and threaded

Screwed the post onto the brass plate, chucked it into the 70 and turned it concentric.
